
Puppet and Actor Theater named after Alojzy Smolka
The Opole Puppet and Actor Theater is one of the best puppet theaters in Poland - appreciated by critics and viewers all over the country for performances for children, youth and adults. One of the oldest Polish puppet theaters founded in 1937 by Alojzy Smolka, from the beginning it was a meeting place for many outstanding artists. Since 1962, every two years, the National Festival of Puppet Theaters has been organized here - a unique review of the most interesting phenomena in the contemporary theater of form. This event attracts interesting artists to the city, allows you to look at the level of native puppetry, but at the same time it is a colorful, theatrical celebration of all Opole residents. In 2014, the theater building gained a new shape - the modern space was adapted to artistic challenges and the needs of subsequent generations of viewers. It is a real masterpiece of modern architecture.
